VOC's Contribute to Indoor Air Pollution?
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects.
Concentrations of many VOC's are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) that outdoors. VOC's are emitted by a wide array of products numbering in the thousands.
Symptoms of Exposure to VOC's
- eye, nose & throat irritation
- allergic skin reaction
- difficult or labored breathing
- severe nose bleeds
It all started in 2011, in a small coffee shop, when a woman asked us to build her a healthy home for her and her son. We had no idea what that meant. The journey to understanding starts with a question. For us, we needed to learn more…...
They both had a condition known as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). Which boils down to not being able to live or work in environments full of toxic VOC’s… she struggled finding companies to work with and listen to what she was asking for. Thus Step Beyond Green was born, we just need 8 years to deliver it!
